The Basics

Barre Chords
Barre chords are a little tricky at first, but once you get the hang of them they’ll open up a whole new world of possibilities. Basically, you use your index finger to press down on all the strings at once, while using the rest of your fingers to form the chord shape. Pentatonic Scale

Sus Chords
Sus chords are a little more advanced, but they add a lot of flavor to your playing. The “sus” stands for “suspended”, which means you’re replacing the third of the chord with either the second or fourth. It’s hard to explain in words, but once you hear it you’ll know what we mean.
Power Chords
Last but not least, we have power chords. These are basically just the root and fifth notes of a chord, and they’re commonly used in punk, metal, and other heavy genres. They’re easy to play and sound awesome through a distorted amp.
