Oh my gosh, you guys! I found the most amazing DIY craft project on Pinterest the other day and I just have to share it with you. It’s seriously so cool and easy to make. I’m talking about these awesome wooden block candles that you can customize with any image you want. Check it out!
First Things First: Gather Your Supplies
So, let’s start with the basics. Here’s what you’ll need to make these amazing candles:
- Wooden blocks (around 2 inches in size)
- Mod Podge
- A paintbrush
- Candle wicks
- Candle wax (you can either buy pre-made wax or melt down old candles that you have)
- An image to use for your candle
Step One: Choose Your Image
The first step is to choose the image you want to put on your candle. This could be anything from a picture of your favorite pet to a cool landscape or even a funny meme. The sky’s the limit, so get creative!
Step Two: Cut Out Your Image
Once you’ve chosen your image, use a pair of scissors or a craft knife to cut it out. Make sure you cut it to the right size so it will fit on the wooden block.
Step Three: Apply Mod Podge
Now it’s time to get sticky! Use your paintbrush to apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the front of your wooden block. Be careful not to apply too much or it will take longer to dry.
Step Four: Add Your Image
Next, carefully place your image onto the wooden block, making sure it’s straight and centered. Use your fingers or a clean cloth to smooth out any bubbles or wrinkles.
Step Five: Seal It Up
Once your image is in place, use your paintbrush to apply another thin layer of Mod Podge to the front of the block. This will help seal the image in place and give it a nice finish.
Step Six: Add Your Wick
Now it’s time to add your candle wick. You can either buy pre-made wicks or make your own by dipping a piece of string into melted wax and letting it dry. Once you have your wick, use a small amount of melted wax to attach it to the bottom of the wooden block.
Step Seven: Pour Your Wax
Finally, it’s time to pour your melted wax into the wooden block. Be careful not to overfill it or it will spill over the sides. Let the wax cool and solidify, then trim your wick to the desired length.
And There You Have It!
That’s all there is to it! You now have your very own custom wooden block candle that will look great in any room of your house. And the best part? You can make as many as you want and change up the images whenever you like!
I hope you guys enjoyed this super easy and fun DIY craft project. Let me know in the comments if you give it a try!
