The Genius Behind Dr. Seuss

Dr. Seuss, real name Theodor Geisel, was a genius when it came to writing children’s books. He published over 60 books in his career, each with their own unique characters and stories. And who could forget the classic Green Eggs and Ham?

And did you know that Dr. Seuss wrote Green Eggs and Ham on a bet? His publisher bet him that he couldn’t write a book using only 50 words, and Dr. Seuss proved him wrong.

The Lorax and Environmentalism

Another great Dr. Seuss book is The Lorax. This book tackled environmental issues long before it was trendy to care about the planet. It’s a story about a creature that speaks for the trees, and the consequences of not taking care of our environment.

The Legacy of Dr. Seuss

Dr. Seuss may have passed away in 1991, but his legacy lives on in his books. They continue to inspire and entertain children (and adults!) of all ages. And did you know that March 2nd is celebrated as Dr. Seuss Day? It’s a day to celebrate his life and his contributions to children’s literature.
