It’s time to mark your calendars, Phillies fans! The 2022 schedule has been officially released and there are plenty of exciting games to look forward to.
Opening Day
The season kicks off on Thursday, March 31st with the Phillies taking on the Atlanta Braves at home. It’s sure to be a thrilling game as the two division rivals faceoff to start the year.
Interleague Play
The Phillies will face some interesting opponents during interleague play in 2022. They start off with a series against the Seattle Mariners at home in May, followed by a two-game series against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium in June. In July, the Boston Red Sox come to Philly for a quick two-game set before the Phillies head to Baltimore for a three-game series against the Orioles.
Division Rivals
Of course, there are plenty of important matchups against division rivals throughout the season. The Phillies will play the Braves, Nationals, and Mets each 19 times throughout the year, with 10 of those games against each team taking place at home. These games will be crucial in determining whether the Phillies can make a push for the playoffs in 2022.
West Coast Trips
The Phillies will have a couple of extended West Coast trips next season. In May, they’ll play three games each against the Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants before heading down to Los Angeles to take on the Dodgers for a four-game series. Then, in August, they’ll play three games each against the San Diego Padres and Arizona Diamondbacks before heading back to the East Coast.
Last Homestand
The last homestand of the season starts on September 20th with a three-game series against the Nationals. Then, the Pirates come to town for a four-game series before the season ends with a three-game set against the Braves. Will the Phillies be fighting for a playoff spot during these games?
